Dr. Shilo Walker split her childhood years between the Pacific Northwest and the Midwest. She attended Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida where she received her degree in Marine Sciences in 1995. She later received her DVM from Michigan State University in 2002. She started her professional career in Portland, Oregon working for a corporate practice. Accepting a transfer to a Gurnee, Illinois clinic, she returned to the Midwest in 2004 where she has worked until joining the Willow Springs Veterinary team in April 2014.

Dr. Walker enjoys all aspects of small animal general medicine. Animal wellness, preventative care, client education, and client communication top her focus areas. She strives to provide each pet with high quality medicine and compassionate care so they can live healthier lives.

As family is her priority, she spends her free time with her husband and children at baseball games, karate tournaments, and as many hot dog roasts as the summer allows. Since her family is spread throughout the country she is often traveling to visit them when time permits.
